A sunny February afternoon

My dad’s cousin was in town with a few friends, and they got lucky as the weather turned from grey and dreary to blue and sunny overnight. On their first afternoon, I took them on a long walk and to show off a good number of the city attractions. They probably wondered if I was trying to punish them though, given all the walking they did with me… (Disclaimer: I love exploring Paris by foot and I am also a pretty brisk walker)

This walk also rewarded me by way of photographs that I’d like to share with you. This is Paris, all set to charm and to seduce, that it is hard not to fall in love with it all over again. Then again, as a friend pointed our recently, even in rainy weather, Paris has a way to translate that into a poetic romance.

Had this not been my visitors’ first time in Paris and requested for some of the biggest attractions, I would have taken them to other less-frequented neighbourhoods and sights which I find to be interesting but off the mainstream radar. Nonetheless, as long as their experience of Paris is positive, it matters less to me what of Paris stole their heart.

Meanwhile, on the personal front, the next sunny day we get like this one, I’m going to try to go out to peripheral arrondissements and get to know these quarters a little more. My knowledge of them is still filled with more gaps that I care for, and surely after nearly three years living here, I ought to do better!

I love the current look of the Pantheon dome ;) Haven’t been near there in ages!

    • Lil says:

That’s all thanks to the current renovation work. Not sure how long it’ll take (I didn’t check) but it does mean I won’t be able to try to climb the dome this summer for panoramic Paris view…

  2. Janice says:

Hi Lilian, Did you take the sunset photos on Monday evening? I was at the Jardin des Tuileries too that evening and saw the setting :).

  3. med says:

I think your photo skills are improving lotsssss lil and beautiful weather helps kekekeke…totally love the 2nd shot with the 2 feathery folks ;)

i wouldn’t mind walking if the weather is nice…cycling would be great too!!

    • Lil says:

Hehe, thanks. I try my best but I still have lots more to learn before I can maximise the quality from my camera. Baby steps ;)

Speaking of cycling, did you see the photo in the post with the two bikes? Then just look to the locks and you’ll see I’m not exaggerating about the craziness suffered by Parisian bridges. Locks on locks and not even on the bridge anymore due to lack of space!

  4. med says:

Yeap. Saw it….looks like locks infestation actually hoohoo
