Berges de Seine

It was a sunny midweek afternoon, my friends and I had had a good lunch at Ellsworth and we were in no hurry to get anywhere. As we strolled and chatted, we found ourselves heading for the Berges de Seine, which serves as riverbank walk, public space, exhibition hall, outdoor gym, patio-ed restaurants and games room, all rolled into one.

It was very pleasant to walk the Berges de Seine and back, observing people at the same time. A water fountain about half way through the length keeps the thirst away although there are cafés and bars that serve other refreshing – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic – drinks. Mind, those placed at “premium” spot can be rather snobbish and overpriced, so there’s no harm walking a couple of hundred meters more for a smaller stall which are more people- and pocket-friendly. ;)

Well it’s not all that warm either in Paris at the moment. The temperature plunged by a good 10C or so in the past couple of days, brrrr…

Would love to see you photograph this place in the late afternoon /evening on a Thursday – there are tons of people there getting drinks after work last time I went.

Weeeeell, I usually avoid it when there are lot of people, hence why I’m rarely there at the weekend. Then again at weekends I’m usually in parts of Paris where there aren’t many people either. I think I’m turning into a grumpy old woman ;)
