Postcards: The (Victoria) Peak (HK)
Victoria Peak is the highest peak on Hong Kong island. Locally known as The Peak, it gave a superb view of the Victoria Harbour as well as other neighbouring islands. I trekked up there twice during my six-day stay, blocked sinus notwithstanding. I was glad to have repeated the experience since the second go was on a clearer day and right before sunset; it was beautiful.
Walking up The Peak is not as difficult as it may seems. With the help of the Mid-Level Escalator, one could easily cut the work down by half, leaving about another 30 minutes walk up a fairly evident path, aided by a couple of strategically located signage. Yes, you will huff and puff on the way up, but it could easily be the views that take your breath away. Or at least that was what I told myself. The view, and the cold.
On neither of my visit did I paid to access The Peak Tower. The Peak Galleria just right beside it has rooftop open to public, and the views from here were good enough for me. Anyone wishing for a small treat break should head to the Sweet Dynasty for the tong yuen (glutinous rice balls), soya pudding, as well as fruit pudding.

Glutinous rice balls! Yum :)
Good thing I have some galette prospects for this afternoon, else I’d have told you off for making me drool ;)
Beautiful night pics, I’m really impressed. Tripod?
We should make some glutinous rice balls one of these days. I have rice flour just sitting in my cupboard ;)
Thanks but actually free hand. I didn’t bring my tripod with me, so relied on a special mode on camera which took 4 quick shots and merged the features to give 1 final photo.
Great photos lil and free hand…wow. Love the night shots and the first sunset photos…others are awesome as well…perfect weather too it seems eh
First trip up was on a hazy day but the second trip up was on a much sunnier day. And for every clear photos you see here, goodness knows how many blurry ones I’ve hidden away :p
