Sarah asked me 10 questions …

My friend Sarah loves to create and she blogs about her hobby over at Crafty Sorcha. She recently nominated me for a Liebster Award in which she has 10 questions for me. I’m honoured – merci, Sarah – and you can read my responses following the photo break.

It has been a while since I participated in a meme, and I’m afraid this particular chain of meme will also end here. One of the conditions set out for this award asks for its re-rewarding to bloggers with limited audience, and somehow, in recent months, most blogs that I read have large number of followers while the smaller ones have stopped being updated. (A sign of losing popularity of blogs among small-audience writers?)

1. How did you pick your blog name?
I may not have gone on an extended multi-destination tour but I travel regularly – my near and dear often wonder where. It’s probably not a surprise that I maintain a calendar for them to track my movements, and this blog to recount what I did, saw, ate etc.

2. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
We can, and should, be more generous in sharing our knowledge, our wealth and our spirit. And oh, just keep swimming.

3. What’s your favourite recipe?
Tough question for someone who loves to cook and to eat. My current coup de cœur is chocolate lava cake with salted butter caramel filling. Gnom.

4. What your favourite post on your blog (link please!)?
I had tons of fun photographing a very snowy Paris earlier this year – on three different occassions no less! (OK, this is kinda cheating since there are three links instead of one) ;)

5. How do you spread the word about your blog?
I write primarily for my family and my friends, but wider audience is welcomed to read my blog too. I have a tweetfeed set up so new posts are automatically sent to Twitter.

6. What’s your perfect Saturday night?
Saturday is usually a busy day so winding the day down gently is always a good idea. A walk along the Seine to admire the sunset, followed by a lovely dinner (matters not if eating out or at home), and then home to curl up in my PJs to read or watch a movie/tv series with F. A cuppa hot chocolate or tea optional :)

7. Who is your favourite fictional character?
I have a soft spot for the ruggedly handsome Richard Castle. He’s witty, charming, committed, generous and caring. More importantly, even if he is childish at times, his unwavering faith in his self-worth without tipping into the realm of insufferable arrogance is inspiring.

8. Describe yourself in three words.
Friendly, resolute, loyal

9. Cat or dog?
Dog. My first pet was an adorable mutt named Blackie, and my family’s recent pets were an active Yorkshire terrier and a proud Labrador.

10. What is your favourite destination?
It’s impossible to choose! So many places have captured my heart in their own ways. My favourite would have to be a sum of all these together. I am thankful too, that life has brought me to Paris which I love very much.
