Postcards: Nørrebro (DK)

On our way from central Copenhagen to J’s place, we travelled past and overhead the S-Tog Ringline. On one side of the road, I noticed colourful structures and street art installation. Unfairly known as the ghetto, according to J, the neighbourhood had seen some riots in the past but the transformation that took place in recent years has brought it new prestige. J happily showed us around this multicultural and bright – and increasingly hipster-friendly – quarter.

From vibrant street art to bike-lined shop fronts, from fashionable concept stores to poorly-lit dive bars, there’s something for everyone. Or at least those immersed in a culture of embracing differences and making them trendy somehow. Jægersborggade is probably one of the more delicious streets that I’ve came across while visiting Nørrebro – just move along and grab all the goodies available!

And oh, I must also show you around Assistens Kirkegård – coming up next, together with Bispebjerg Kirkegård :)
